shiploverny > Looking aft along the starboard-side indoor promenade from Hemingway's. These promenades were also redecorated by Farcus in the '80s.
shiploverny > Aft of Hemingway's and the Library is a shopping arcade dating to the 1997 THE TOPAZ refit. The largest shop has been converted to the "Peace Boat Centre".
shiploverny > A very original-looking frosted-glass exit sign.
shiploverny > Facing forward along the port-side indoor promenade. The decor here dates from the Carnival era. The Tivoli lighting is especially characteristic of Joe Farcus' designs.
shiploverny > Wood veneer peeks out from behind the laminate where it has been cut away to expose an electrical box.
shiploverny > Looking aft on the port-side promenade, toward the entrance to the Broadway Show Lounge. This space used to be the Photo Gallery, as the sign on the inboard bulkhead attests.
shiploverny > The aft-most original public space is the Cinema. It retains some original details but was redesigned by A&M Katzourakis when the ship became THE TOPAZ in 1997. During her Thomson career, it was the "Le Cabaret Restaurant", serving as a sort of dinner theatre. This view is facing aft. Note the projectionist's window on the aft blukhead.
shiploverny > This forward-facing view shows the stage in the Cinema.
shiploverny > All the way aft is the Broadway Show Lounge, the biggest public room on the ship. Originally, this was open deck space, and it was enclosed to create a show lounge by Greek Line in 1965 when the ship became QUEEN ANNA MARIA. Its current decor is by Joe Farcus and dates from the late CARNIVALE era. It is shown here in a forward-facing view.
