shiploverny > Another forward-facing view of the Broadway Show Lounge.

shiploverny > And now an aft-facing view. For most of the life of this room, there was a bar at the very stern. Note the sheer and camber of the deck and overhead.

shiploverny > Looking out of the port-side indoor promenade windows, we can see NIPPON MARU on the south side of Pier 90.

shiploverny > Now we go down three decks to the Topaz Dining Room, aft on B Deck (Bolero). These heavy brass-trimmed doors are among the few remnants of the space's original design.

shiploverny > A brass railing is another original detail. It blends strangely well into the current, garish decor.

shiploverny > A forward/port-facing view in the Topaz Dining Room. The current decor dates from a late Carnival refit by Joe Farcus, except for the color scheme. The present green and orange replaced an even more garish color scheme of pink and purple. The backlit glass panels replaced large photographs of sunsets designed to disguise the fact that there are no portholes. Farcus' beloved Tivoli lighting is again present here.

shiploverny > This little raised section is in the aft/port corner and sports another original railing. Green carpeting and black laquer has replaced the original wood veneer and wood rail, but the "U" shaped brass decorations remain.

shiploverny > At the forward end of the dining room is a small stage and a green marble dance floor, added in the 1997 conversion to THE TOPAZ. Entertainment was featured at night during the Thomson era.
